A journey through the Classic period of the Maya in a private tour

On the first day of your tour we’ll visit Tulum and Coba, then we’ll transfer in our comfortable van to Valladolid, where we’ll have a city tour.
Rio Lagartos is a Biosphere Reserve created by the government to protect over 350 species of birds, featuring the pink flamingoes and several species of mammals, reptiles and flora.
On the way to Merida we’ll visit Chichen Itza, one of the Wonders of the modern World, learn about the rise, development and decay of the Maya from your expert private tour guide.
Uxmal is the jewel of the Puuc architectural style, we’ll stroll around its courtyards and Plazas, the piramid of the Fortune Teller and the Governor’s Palace to continue to Kaba, the “Powerful Hand” to admire the Codz Pop and the Acropolis.
To close this adventure with a gold pin we’ll visit Izamal, a religious center well before the arrival of the Spaniards!

Day 01 Cancun / Riviera Maya
On the way to Valladolid we will visit Tulum and Coba, upon arrival we will take a city tour and lodge.
Day 02 Valladolid
Ek Balam boosts the Mausoleum of Ukit Kan Lek’tok, the lord that ruled at it’s heyday, after visiting the archaeological site we’ll head towards Rio Lagartos Biosphere reserve to admire over 350 species of birds, featuring the pink flamingoes! Overnight in Valladolid.
Day 03 Merida
Chichen Itza is the most important city of the Maya in the Yucatan Peninsula; we will have a comprehensive tour of the archaeological site and will learn about the raise and decay of the Maya civilization from your private, certified guide. Overnight in Merida.
Day 04 Merida
In the morning we will visit Uxmal and Kabah, two beautiful archaeological sites of the Classic period, cradle of the Puuc architectural style of the Maya. Afterwards we will take a city tour to see Merida, the emblematic Montejo Avenue and different monuments that make one of the jewels of colonial Mexico.
Day 05 Cancun / Riviera Maya
On the way back to the Caribbean Coast we will visit Izamal, the yellow town, a jewel of our Spanish colonial heritage. Arrival to Cancun / Riviera Maya.

Note that the itinerary is a minimum guideline for the places to visit and activities, but we will have myriad opportunities to learn, enjoy and admire the Yucatan Peninsula.

$300 pesos per person – Lunch souvenirs and beverages are not included on the tour fee. There is a $45 pesos fee for the use of non professional video equipment in each one of the archaeological sites.
We have lodging options to meet your needs, from luxury boutique accommodations, 3 or 4 stars hotels and hostels for backpackers.
You must bring health insurance to start any of our expedition tours.
